Description: Over 1300 books, reports and other resources of value to Clear Lake and its watershed reside in the collection developed by Lake County Department of Public Works. With the support of the Rumsey Tribe's grant to Yolo County RCD and the work of David Siedband with Wolf and Associates, the database developed by Lake County was ?crosswalked? over and is now available for browsing and searching as a catalog within the Cache Creek Watershed Library.
How to use: Over the years that Lake County developed their reference library, the keywords, location names, organizational and individual references were not controlled. As a result, you will need to go through a few extra steps to thoroughly search the catalog. For example, there are at least four 'algae' related keywords. Click on all four and then search. Each keyword has an associated reference in the database. It may bring back less than four references because some references have the same or associated keywords listed with them more than once. So, think of all the keywords you might be interested in. Find them in alphabetical order and search.
How to obtain the references: Once you have found a Lake County Public Works reference that you would like to make use of, you should contact the Public Works Department, 707-263-2341 and request a time to visit the library. Be sure to bring the resource ID number for each resource you wish to find because that is how their internal cataloging system works.
